Al-Shabaab prisoners escaped from a prison in Galkayo

Aug 05 (Jowhar.com)-Four of the men who have been found guilty by the Puntland courts of murders, bombings and belonging to the Al-Shabaab group escaped last night from a special base in the East of Galkayo, the capital of Mudug region.

It has been confirmed that the security forces of the base have succeeded in arresting 8 of the prisoners who wanted to escape while the other four are still in the hands of the security forces who have not released any information about the incident.

The former governor of Mudug region MP Abdiladief Muse Noor (Sanyare) in a post on his Facebook showed the existence of individuals involved in the escape of the men and called on Puntland authorities to punish them for such an act similar to what happened in Galkayo in 2022.

This issue comes at a time when the president of Puntland, Saeed Deni, is heading to Galkayo, the capital of Mudug region.
