Aug 23 (Jowhar) – The Ethiopian Airline has accepted to change its ticket page, which was previously written in Hargeisa, to include Somalia as requested by the Somali government.
In a statement from the company sent by Ethiopia, it said that more time should be added to implement this, but the Civil Aviation Authority of Somalia rejected the request.
The director of the information and public relations department of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Abdi, confirmed this to the media, and noted that the company has contacted the Ministry and the Somali Civil Aviation Authority and discussed these issues.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Transport and the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority said that they have accepted and corrected the request from the Somali government.
The flight to Hargeisa, which was originally listed on the Ethiopian Airlines website as Hargeisa, was changed to Hargeisa, Somalia this afternoon.
The Somali government has already accused the company of violating Somali nationalism and it must correct this mistake.
The Somali Civil Aviation Authority has threatened that if the company does not accept their offer, they will be suspended from the Somali airspace.
Ethiopian Airlines has a large market in Somalia with weekly flights to Mogadishu and Hargeisa and other cities.
