Ethiopian Government Denies Involvement in Weapons Seized in Somalia

Jul 24 (Jowhar.com) – The Ethiopian government said that the weapons recently captured by the people of Abudwak have nothing to do with Ethiopia, the Somali government is responsible for the management and distribution of weapons.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Nebiyu Tedla, while speaking to VOA, was asked whether they bought these weapons from DFS or not, but he refused to give details.

A few days ago, the XFS sent a letter to its foreign embassies saying that Ethiopia imported the weapons into Somalia, illegally.

This weapon is causing serious confusion in Somalia, three embassies in Addis Ababa, Nairobi & Mogadishu are under strict investigation.

However, these weapons, which were imported into Somalia a few days ago, especially Abudwaq, according to the media, were taken from military bases in the town of Godey in the Somali Regional Government.
