July 23 (Jowhar.com) – The Minister of Public Affairs, Major General Bashir Mohamed Jama Goobe, was elected today in the city of Dhusomareb, the capital of Galmudug state, to a seat in the People’s Assembly.
The seat marked HOP 18 was previously elected in Dhusomareb for MP Sahro Colaad Abdi, and it is said that this MP has resigned from this seat and has decided to make way for General Bashir Goobe.
A number of seats in the People’s Assembly of the Federal Parliament of Somalia are currently vacant, the former MPs having passed away, and one of the vacant seats is the seat of Minister Khadijo Mohamed Diriye.
