Jul 29 (Jowhar.com) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, had a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart, Mr. Rajab Dayib Erdogan.
The two Presidents discussed how to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the two brotherly countries, especially in the fields of energy and defense.
President Erdogan confirmed that Turkey will continue its support to Somalia, stressing the importance of Turkey to the independence, dignity and unity of the country and the Somali people and supporting the operations of the Armed Forces to eradicate terrorism.
President Mohamud expressed his gratitude for Turkey’s ongoing support and emphasized the importance of collaboration in combating terrorism and promoting stability in the region.
He also highlighted the need for increased investment in key sectors such as infrastructure, education, and healthcare to further enhance the development of Somalia.
Both leaders agreed to work closely together to address common challenges and to further strengthen the bilateral relations between their countries. They also discussed the upcoming Somalia-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting, where they will continue to explore ways to enhance cooperation and mutual benefits.
The conversation ended on a positive note, with both Presidents reaffirming their commitment to deepening the ties between Somalia and Turkey for the prosperity and well-being of their respective nations.
