President Hassan: “In the country of elections, people and votes are entered without withdrawal or waiver”
Aug 09 (Jowhar.com) – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud spoke about the country’s elections in a speech at the Friday prayer today at the mosque inside the Somali presidential palace in Mogadishu, and he said that the country is going to vote and vote. There are no cancellations or waivers.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud talked about the stages of the elections that took place in the country in recent years, noting that there is no war in Somalia like some countries in the world, there is war during the elections, especially the last elections.
President Hassan Sheikh has reiterated that the country is going to vote and will not go back.
“The Somali country is going to vote for people and vote. There is no possibility of delay or giving up. The Somali people are voting as much as possible,” Hassan Sheikh continued.
“We want several million Somalis to vote and elect local councilors or members of parliament, it is possible for several million to vote,” said President Hassan Sheikh, stressing that it is not possible for all Somalis to vote at this time.
President Hassan Sheikh noted that there is a need to change and adapt the existing laws to the current situation;
“The laws of the electoral process are made for us and they want to adapt the new charter and the new circumstances. There is the electoral law, the party law is there, the electoral commission law is there, the circumstances have changed and the time has changed. the people who were responsible for us, most of that time happened, so the laws should be reformed and adapted to the current situation,” said Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
