Sharif, the former president of Somalia, criticized the government on important issues

Jul 26 (Jowhar.com) – The 7th President of Somalia, Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, who held a press conference in Mogadishu this morning, spoke about sensitive issues, such as the elections, the issue of khat, the slowness of the war against Al-Shabaab and the arrest of journalists.

Sharif Sheikh Ahmed pointed out that the government has slowed down the fight against the Al-Shabaab group, clearly pointing out that there is currently no army fighting the group.

“It seems today that the Military Forces do not have a single battalion that can fight. If the fighting against AS is good, why did the troops fail?”

He pointed out that the leaders of the government are involved in the issue of Qad brought to the country, and journalists were arrested when they presented it.

“Jad used to enter the country but I have never seen a senior leader involved in drug issues, and the journalist who was arrested said that and he is right”.

He pointed out that the issue of the weapons seized in Abudwaq could lower the international confidence in the security of the country and the weapons could be handed over to Al-Shabaab.

“Many efforts have been made to lift the sanctions, but it is unfortunate that it seems irresponsible that the weapons are in the hands of the people, and the government is involved and its army is escorting illegal weapons”.

He also accused the government of attacking the leaders of the regional governments and wanting to make noise in the issues of local government elections.
