Somalia and Egypt signed a defense cooperation agreement

Aug 14 (Jowhar) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today held an important meeting with the President of Egypt, Mr. Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi.

The meeting, which took place in Cairo, was attended by ministers from the two governments, who were part of the negotiations to reach important agreements on defense and security cooperation between Somalia and Egypt.

The two Presidents jointly affirmed that the defense cooperation between Somalia and Egypt is an important step to enhance the security and stability of the region.

This new defense agreement will pave the way for close cooperation between the defense and security ministries of the two countries, and it is promised to implement joint plans to strengthen the defense and security capabilities of Somalia.

After the meeting, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi held a press conference where they reported on the content of the agreement reached and the future plans of the two countries.

The two Presidents stressed the importance of strengthening the relationship between the two brotherly countries and cooperation in various fields, while discussing other important issues that affect the region and the stability of the continent.
