Jul 24 (Jowhar.com)-Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Amb. Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, concluded the meeting of the Somali diaspora in Doxa.
The meeting, organized by the Qatari government, was attended by approximately 250 members from various sectors of the Somali community and the diaspora, which led to the production of practical recommendations.
Minister Ahmed Fiqi, who spoke at the end of the meeting, thanked the government of Qatar for the kind welcome and hosting.
He pointed to the deep and traditional relationship between Somalia and Qatar, underlining the value of mutual respect, solidarity and cooperation that defines their cooperation.
“Our two nations have always stood by each other. We confirm our commitment to strengthening this relationship,” said Minister Fiqi.
The minister called on Qatari investors to focus on the important areas of Somalia, stressing that such investments will not only result in economic benefits. but also to strengthen the traditional relations between the peoples of the two countries.
Speaking to the Somali diaspora, Minister Fiqi called on them to participate in the development of Somalia.
“You are the heart and soul of our nation. Your efforts have been the backbone of supporting families, communities, and the overall development of our country. Now, more than ever, Somalia needs you to actively participate in re- revitalizing our economy and growing it. he said.
The minister urged the diaspora to use their different experiences, skills and to participate in the reconstruction and development of Somalia, to find a promising future for the next generation.
He emphasized the importance of unity among the Somali people, both at home and abroad, in order to achieve sustainable development and prosperity for the country. Minister Fiqi also highlighted the government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for investment and business in Somalia, including providing support and incentives for both local and foreign investors.
