Shibi police station chief joins anti-Farmajo forces

The commander of the Shibi District Police Station, Farhan Ahmed Hassan Jaraye, is said to have joined the anti-government forces based in the Mirinya area of the Abdulaziz district.

According to a police officer, Commander Jaraye and his bodyguards in two Abdi Bilaha vehicles entered the area where opposition forces from the Middle Shabelle region are based in Mogadishu.

Shibi District Police Commander Farhan Jaraye told a news conference that he did not give up but realized that mothers and children were being attacked and that the fighting was politically motivated.

Farhan urged other officers who were friends to join the opposition forces for the extension.

Pro-government forces that oppose the extension of President Farmajo’s mandate are still united by other military and police forces.
