Ukraine claims to have shot down 30 cruise missiles and 27 drones overnight
The Ukrainian army announced that it had shot down 30 out of 40 cruise missiles and all of the Iranian-made Shahed drones sent by Russia in several attacks overnight on Saturday and Sunday. Follow the latest developments of the war in Ukraine .
Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that a drone targeting the Russian capital had been shot down by air defense forces after several similar attacks.
“Today, around 11:00 am, a drone attempted to breach Moscow. It was destroyed upon approach by the air defense forces,” the mayor said on Telegram.

The Ukrainian air forces announced that they had shot down 30 out of 40 cruise missiles and all of the Shahed drones sent by Russia in several attacks overnight.
“Thirty cruise missiles and 27 drones have been destroyed,” they said on Telegram, adding that Russia had also used three hypersonic Kinzhal missiles, without specifying if they had been destroyed or not.
<p”In total, the enemy used 70 aerial weapons in several waves of attacks,” particularly in the Khmelnytsky region, hundreds of kilometers away from the front lines but housing an important Ukrainian air base.
