Man Claims Innocence in the Deaths of BBC Commentator’s Wife and Daughters

A 26-year-old man has been charged with the murder of three relatives of a BBC commentator and has additionally been accused of raping his daughter.

Kyle Clifford stands accused of fatally stabbing Carol Hunt, 61, the spouse of John Hunt, and shooting Louise, 25, and Hannah Hunt, 28, with a crossbow at their family residence in Bushey, Hertfordshire, on July 9.

During proceedings at Cambridge Crown Court, it was revealed that the defendant is also charged with the rape of Louise on the same day, as this allegation was added to his indictment.

Mr. Clifford, from Enfield, north London, faces an additional charge of false imprisonment and two counts of possession of offensive weapons, specifically a crossbow and a 25cm butcher’s knife.

Kyle Clifford has pleaded not guilty to all charges except for the newly added rape charge.

A prior hearing disclosed that Louise had been discovered tied up when police arrived at the scene.

The court was informed that Louise and Hannah Hunt were shot with a crossbow, while their mother Carol had sustained multiple stab wounds.

Following the tragic incident, Mr. Hunt and his third daughter Amy released a statement expressing their grief, stating: “The devastation we are experiencing cannot be put into words.”
