McGregor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations in US Civil Lawsuit
Conor McGregor faces allegations of sexual assault occurring at an NBA game in Florida, as outlined in a civil lawsuit filed against him in a US court.
The incident in question is said to have occurred in 2023 and was initially part of a criminal allegation against Mr. McGregor, which the Florida State Attorney’s office chose not to pursue.
The woman, who has not been named, claims in her court filings that she was sexually assaulted in the restrooms of the Miami Heat’s Kaseya Center in June 2023, where the two had spent time in the hospitality section.
She reported the incident two days later.
“With the Miami-Dade County Prosecutor’s office opting not to file criminal charges, the civil case remains the only path for my client to seek justice,” Mr. Dunn remarked in an email statement.
Barbara Llanes from Gelber, Schachter & Greenberg, representing Mr. McGregor, stated: “After a comprehensive investigation, the State’s Attorney determined there was no viable case. Now, nearly two years later and after at least three different lawyers, the plaintiff has introduced a new fabricated narrative. We are assured that this case will also be dismissed.”
The plaintiff is seeking damages from the Kaseya Center staff and security for “gross negligence” and is requesting “compensation for past and future medical treatment, damages, and any other relief the Court considers appropriate,” as indicated in the court filings.
