Multiple Injured as Russian Missile Strikes Building in Central Ukraine
A missile launched by Russia struck a residential building in Kryvyi Rih, located in central Ukraine, injuring at least seven individuals, with several more trapped beneath the debris, as reported by officials.
Among the injured were two children, according to regional governor Serhiy Lysak via the Telegram messenger app.
The attack resulted in the destruction of apartments spanning from the first to the fifth floors, he noted.
Images shared by officials illustrated the building’s damaged roof and collapsed floors, which were engulfed in smoke. Vehicles parked outside were also buried under rubble.
In response, he made a renewed plea to allies for the supply of weaponry and “stronger global support” to counter Russian aggression.
Prior to this, Ukrainian authorities had issued air raid alerts across most of the country following Russian strikes that claimed the lives of at least six individuals in southern Ukraine.
Preventive power outages were implemented in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions, as per the Ukrainian energy provider DTEK’s announcement on Telegram.
Earlier, Russian airstrikes had resulted in at least six fatalities in southern Ukraine, occurring just a day after record overnight drone attacks were exchanged between Russia and Ukraine.
In the southern city of Mykolaiv, five people were reported killed, according to the regional governor, while another victim in Zaporizhzhia succumbed to injuries from an assault that left over a dozen wounded.
