At least ten individuals have lost their lives after a vehicle drove into a crowd celebrating the New Year in New Orleans, a city in the US.
Authorities in the city have reported that 30 others have sustained injuries as a result of the incident.
According to US media sources, the event took place around 3am local time on Bourbon Street.
Local news organization WGNO has stated that the New Orleans Police Department believes a vehicle collided with a group of people at the junction of Bourbon Street and Iberville in the city.
Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has termed the incident a “horrific act of violence” and has urged residents to steer clear of the area.
This tragic act of violence occurred on Bourbon Street earlier this morning.
