US President Donald Trump has rescinded security clearances for Antony Blinken, the former Secretary of State, and Jake Sullivan, the former National Security Adviser, according to White House officials.
This decision followed Mr. Trump’s announcement that he had revoked the security clearance for his predecessor, Joe Biden, which ended his access to daily intelligence briefings.
Additionally, Mr. Trump revoked the security clearances for Mr. Biden’s Deputy Attorney General, Lisa Monaco, who played a role in coordinating the Department of Justice’s response to the January 6, 2021 attacks on the US Capitol by Mr. Trump’s supporters, as stated by officials yesterday.

They further indicated that Mr. Trump also removed the clearances of New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, both of whom have led legal cases against him.
In 2021, Mr. Biden had previously revoked the security clearance for Mr. Trump, who was then a former president.
Last month, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth revoked the personal security detail and security clearance for Mark Milley, a retired Army general and former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Mr. Milley, who served as the top US military officer during parts of Mr. Trump’s first presidential term, became a notable critic of him after retiring as a four-star general in 2023 during Mr. Biden’s presidency.
Many of Mr. Biden’s diplomats collaborated with incoming Mr. Trump officials in the weeks leading up to January 20, when Mr. Trump took office, on matters such as Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Mr. Blinken was not immediately available for comment.
