Two Individuals Charged in Relation to June Stonehenge Incident

According to a statement from Wiltshire Police: “The Crown Prosecution Service has authorized us to charge Rajan Naidu, 73, from Gosford Street, Birmingham, and Niamh Lynch, 22, from Norfolk Road, Bedford, with the destruction or damage of a protected ancient monument, as well as intentionally or recklessly causing a public nuisance.”

“They have been granted bail to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on 13 December.”

Sophie Stevens, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS Wessex, stated: “The Crown Prosecution Service has given clearance for Wiltshire Police to charge Naidu Rajan and Niamh Lynch with offenses related to damage inflicted on the protected monument Stonehenge on June 19, 2024.”

“I want to remind everyone that there are ongoing criminal proceedings against these individuals, and they are entitled to a fair trial.”

“It is imperative that there is no reporting, commentary, or online sharing of information that could potentially prejudice these proceedings.”
