Jay-Z will take one of entertainment’s biggest stages in 2027, landing the coveted headlining slot for the NFL Super Bowl half-time show.
Following weeks of speculation, Roc Nation, the NFL and Apple Music confirmed the booking in a joint announcement issued ahead of last night’s matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 2027 Super Bowl is scheduled for 14 February at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
“From ‘Reasonable Doubt’ to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey,” Jay-Z said in a statement.
“Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true,” he added.

Roc Nation, the rapper’s entertainment company, has overseen production of the Super Bowl half-time show since it partnered with the NFL in 2019. Since then, the spectacle has featured headliners such as Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, The Weeknd and Bad Bunny.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said, “When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him.”
The company also produced Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 performance — now the most watched Super Bowl half-time show in history — which later won the Emmy award for outstanding music direction.
Jay-Z, born Shawn Carter, has built one of hip-hop’s most decorated careers since he broke through with his debut album, ‘Reasonable Doubt’, which was released in 1996.
He has amassed a long list of honours, including becoming the first rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, winning 25 Grammy awards and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
