July 12 (Jowhar)-The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) conducted a planned operation last night in the Galmudug neighborhood of Garasbaaley district, targeting two members of the Al-Shabaab militia.
The operation resulted in the killing of one Al-Shabaab member, while the other was wounded. The officers leading the operation confirmed to the media that the operation went as planned, and that no government forces were injured.
Meanwhile, security forces, who were on high alert, also foiled an attempt by Al-Shabaab to carry out an attack or act of insecurity in the Xawo-Taako neighborhood of Beledweyne last night.
The forces killed one Al-Shabaab member there, while another member of the group was captured alive.
These operations are part of the efforts of Somali security agencies to pursue Al-Shabaab members who are attempting to carry out insecurity-related acts, although Al-Shabaab has so far not released any information regarding the government’s claims regarding these operations.
